Standard Airbrush Solution vs. Rapid Airbrush Solution
Both Standard and Rapid airbrush tanning solutions deliver a high-quality, professional sunless tan, but they differ in development time, convenience, and flexibility. Here’s a breakdown of their key differences:
Standard Airbrush Solution

Rapid Airbrush Solution

✔ Rinse Time:
  • Rinse after 1 hour for a light tan
  • Rinse after 2 hours for a medium tan
  • Rinse after 3-4 hours for a dark tan
✔ Ideal For: Clients who need a tan quickly and don’t want to wait 8+ hours before showering

How to prepare for Airbrush Sessions

  • You will need to shower, shave and exfoliate your skin. Avoid sulfate (salt) scrubs/body washes as these will dry out your skin and strip your spray tan.
  • Use a body scrub and/or luffa on your entire body.
  • Shave prior to sunless tanning as it is another form of exfoliation as it takes off the top layer of your skin.
  • Do not apply the following products to your skin before arriving; makeup, perfume, deodorant, or lotion.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to prevent the solution from rubbing off. Remove all jewelry before coming in to prevent any unwanted tan lines.
  • Don’t forget to wear/bring proper clothing weather permitting.

Aftercare for Airbrush Sessions

  • Wait a minimum of 6-8 hours and a max of 24 hours before you shower, sweat or get wet. These activities may result in decreased results.
  • Your first shower should be a lukewarm rinse. Avoid long, hot showers, baths or jacuzzis. You will see your excess bronzers wash off, but don’t worry! This is NOT washing off your spray tan! The delayed bronzers have developed.
  • Make sure you are always using sulfate-free body washes! We recommend our sulfate-free Hemp Nation Body Washes available in many different fragrances!
  • Once you get out of the shower, make sure to pat your skin dry to keep the bronzers from coming off.
  • Moisturize daily to ensure your color lasts as long as possible!
  • Your color may last up to 2 weeks!

What is airbrush tanning?

Airbrush tanning is a custom sunless tan applied by hand by a trained technician using a compressor and airbrush. The technician adjusts the color blend, contouring and application to your skin tone, body shape and tan goals, and blends carefully around hands, feet, elbows and knees. A session usually takes 15–30 minutes including drying time.

Do I need an appointment for an airbrush tan?

Walk-ins are welcome when a technician is available, so please call the salon first to check. Airbrush tanning is technician-applied and is separate from the VersaSpa Pro booth, so it is not part of the Pepper Club Spray tier. Have a group of three or more? Ask about our special group rates — we will travel to you.

How much does an airbrush tan cost?

A full-body airbrush session is $49, a Performance Revved session is $95, and a package of three sessions is $130. Partial sessions are $15 for the face, $12 for arms, $15 for legs and $10 for the stomach. Rapid solution, moisturizer or setting spray can be added for $5 each. For a custom airbrush tan, ask the salon.

What is the difference between the Standard and Rapid airbrush solutions?

Standard solution develops over 8–24 hours — wait at least 8 hours before showering — and deepens gradually to its peak at 24 hours, in varieties such as Venetian, Dark and Double Dark. Rapid solution develops in 1–4 hours: rinse after 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for medium or 3–4 hours for dark. Both last about 5–7 days with proper care.
